Sounkyo is one of the most famous hot spring sites in Hokkaido. They host a winter festival called the ‘Sounkyo Ice Festival 2020 (層雲峡氷瀑まつり)’. Sounkyo is renowned for its cliffs and precipices, and during winter, the frozen waterfalls create a fantastical and mysterious atmosphere. The sight of huge frozen waterfalls is sure to leave a lasting impression.
