This video captures winter driving on February 1st, 2016, along the Hokkaido Expressway during heavy snowfall. Visibility was extremely poor, with the car in front barely visible.
The footage covers the stretch from Iwamizawa city to Mikasa city on the Hokkaido Expressway.
The road had two lanes, but driving side by side was impossible due to the heavy snow, making it extremely dangerous.
The road’s width was barely discernible, with snowdrifts accumulating on both sides, forcing drivers to navigate cautiously along the center.
After struggling for 30 minutes, I decided to exit the highway. Winter conditions often lead to numerous accidents on these roads.
