From an observation deck located approximately 1000m high, you can look down on Lake Kussharo. The month of July is often marked by the appearance of a sea of clouds, making it a spectacular sight to behold. To get the best view, it’s advisable to head to the observation deck before dawn.
The road leading up is paved, but its width is such that two cars can barely pass each other. Therefore, caution is required when driving. Along the way, you might encounter animals such as rabbits and deer. Be aware that bears are also present in the area.
